Courage to Change

Never in the history of the world has there been a greater time for people to embrace a life of virtue. A life based upon time-proven values can be easily overshadowed by the clamor and turbulence of schedules and deadlines, of economic worries and stress, and of environmental and equality issues.  Virtue-based training must be re-established within our hearts so that we are able to positively influence the rising generation, the children of the Millennial Generation, a generation who will lead us to greater peace. Peace begins one individual, one family, one community, and one nation at a time. We must commit to change;  change that will enable us to see ourselves as we really are, to love ourselves as we really are, to cherish our fellow travelers for who they truly are, and to embrace the peaceful life we deserve.

Imagine for just one moment that it was really as simple as suggested here.  Imagine that world peace does in fact begin with inner peace, and that inner peace is the key to inner-city violence, political integrity, and the vehicle to global disarmament.  What if inner peace begins with individual humility and courage followed by cleanliness, obedience, industry and integrity, leading to wisdom and gratitude?  Imagine a world committed to delayed gratification and self control.  Imagine cleanliness, obedience, and industry being considered more important than self-indulgence, power, and control.  Imagine a world committed to the pursuit of integrity, wisdom, and self-mastery.  Then, if you dare, consider the impact of gratitude being felt everywhere by everyone for everything.   Would it make a difference?  Would it change the world?  What if only 1% of the world caught the vision, would it be worth it?  One percent of six and half billion is 650,000 people; I believe this is significant.

“A life of peace, purity, and refinement leads to a calm
and untroubled old age.”
Cicero (106 BC – 43 BC)
